Guitar Legend Dick Dale is now 80 years old…
Dick Dale is the Creator and Pioneer of his own Genre of music in 1955 marking 62+ years in the business.
Dick is the Creator and pioneer of Fender Equipment with Leo Fender who was like a second Father to Dick Dale in the late 1950s+60s.
Dick Dale began his career with Art LaBoe standing on a soap box performing left handed upside down backward on the Guitar and the Guitarist to do so..
Mark Hendrix then hired Dick Dale to do an Elvis impersonation for the Orpheum Theater in 1956 doing Elvis Impersonation during the showing of Love Me Tender and Jailhouse Rock … Also in 1956 Dick Dale was on TV show Town Hall party with all of the Country Greats of the Day and they loved him.
My husband is also responsible for reopening up The Rendezvous Ballroom in Balboa after Stan Kenton and drawing 4000 kids per weekend night Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as Harmony Park in the thousands.
After Dick Dale battled in 1964 Rectal Cancer while making Beach Party Movies
for William Asher and was told he would not live as the Cancer was in his lower Intestines.
Dick then Built ground up 30,000 square feet and opened two of the largest Nightclubs in southern Ca. as Dick Dale did it all managing and performing etc. The third and smaller one was a beer bar.
From there he hired the largest acts in Vegas of the day and knew the business blindfolded.
Dick is the second most influential Guitarist in the world we are told as well as has just about every award accept the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame/Kennedy Honors and no star on Hollywood walk ...DD is in the Presidential Hall of Records/In a chip going around Mars and the Moon by the Astronauts as well as a hundred + more awards. He has notably
the ATFL gala award and was voted in by 100,000 into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2009. Dick Dale pushed Ritchie Valens on stage and his family still comes to see DD to this day as they love him dearly! DD had Buddy Holly open for him.
The Beach Boys opened for Dick's Manager Father and DD in the day.
Les Paul loved Dick Dale and DD Loved Les Paul as both are creators.
