This event is 21 and over

It's been well documented that during the 1960's the epicentre of the rock and roll music scene was the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California. The Yellow Payges were arguably one of the most recognizable groups on the Sunset Strip. Having been the featured house band at the Hullabaloo Club, they performed with some of the most well known groups of the day including The Doors, The Yardbirds, The Monkees, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Burdon and The Animals, The Turtles, The Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, Iron Butterfly, Canned Heat, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Van Morrison, Paul Butterfield, Jefferson Airplane and many more.

In addition to appearing on American Bandstand in 1967 (the Summer of Love), The Yellow Payges went on their first national tour as part of Dick Clark's Happening '67, a package tour which travelled to 45 U.S. cities in 45 days. On August 16,1968, The Yellow Payges played their biggest show ever, appearing at the Hollywood Bowl on a bill headlined by Eric Burdon and The Animals, The Rascals and Tommy James & the Shondells. The band released a string of singles in addition to the highly collectible album The Yellow Payges: Volume 1. They continued to tour the United States, Canada and Mexico until they disbanded in 1971.

In 2012 original band mates Danny Gorman, Michael Rummans, and Daniel Hortter decided to put the band back together for another run. The Yellow Payges once again opened for the Legendary Yardbirds at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA! This was be a particularly special night for The Yellow Payges, as it was 50 years ago when The Yellow Payges opened for The Yardbirds during their very first U.S. Tour at The Hullabaloo Club back in January 1966.

The band has continued to perform at such venues as House of Blues, The Roxy, Johnny Whiteside’s Messaround at Viva Cantina, and Phoenix’s Legendary Rhythm Room.

In 2019, Daniel Hortter, Danny Gorman and long-time member bassist Dave Provost, recruited guitarist George Keller and will be gigging and entering the studio to record and release a new 45 RPM record on yellow vinyl.

Stay tuned...!
