SUGAR THIEVES
SUGAR THIEVES
The Sugar Thieves have a sultry blues roots foundation, and powerhouse delta sound that will take you back in time. They also come equipped with a fresh new style, high-energy showmanship, and an original song list that brings music enthusiasts, of any age, to their feet to shake that meat! In 2008 and 2009, The Sugar Thieves won the Phoenix Blues Society’s AZ. Blues Showdown and were voted best blues band in the state. They went on to compete in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis (Feb. 2009/Jan. 2010) where they were voted one of the top ten unsigned blues bands in the world in 09, and won the “People’s Choice” award at the Old Daisy Theatre in 2010. The Sugar Thieves were also voted best Americana band in 09 by the Phoenix New Times’ “Summer of Sound Series”, and nominated for Best Local Band in Phoenix as well. The singular vision that drives this band is their plight to reintroduce what some call a dying genre, blues music, to younger generations and those that have simply forgotten. But don’t think you’ve heard anything like it before. The Thieves put on a show that’s worth writing home about.
SISTAHS TOO (WITH ROCHELLE RAYA & LILA SHERMAN)
SISTAHS TOO (WITH ROCHELLE RAYA & LILA SHERMAN)
From Sistah Blue to The DelRayz, original members Lila Sherman and Rochelle Raya (Arizona Blues Hall of Famer) are at it again.
MIKE ELDRED TRIO
MIKE ELDRED TRIO
“Mike Eldred is among the rare breed of guitarists who is not afraid of blurring lines in American Music. By bending all of his favorite musical styles, Mike has created his own original voice in modern electric guitar playing. HE’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT, BABY!”
- Brian Setzer
“The deeper “The Mike Eldred Trio” digs into American roots music, the stronger they sound” - Goldmine Magazine
"It’s like listening to what the Clash might have done if they had been born 20 years earlier..."
- Blues Blast Magazine
“It's not so much raw chutzpah as sheer love — backed by unassailable musical chops — with which veteran Southern California blues musician Mike Eldred puts on display in “61 and 49,” referencing the fabled intersection in Clarksdale, Miss., that's essentially ground zero in the world of Delta blues.
What makes the album such a delight is the masterful way the guitarist, singer and songwriter paces his trek through a rainbow's worth of electric and acoustic blues workouts. It's the sign of a journeyman who has spent untold hours playing clubs and learning the old-fashioned way what flies and what doesn't”.
- Los Angeles Times
Voted one of the best guitarists in Americana / Roots / Blues music, The Mike Eldred Trio is a roots “Super-Band” with Eldred (formerly with Stray Cat Lee Rocker) and John Bazz and Jerry Angel both from The Blasters! Their first CD (The Mike Eldred Trio) sent shock waves throughout the Americana/roots/blues community with rave reviews from Brian Setzer among others, and gave Eldred the title “best unknown guitarist”. The band's second CD (61 and 49) was voted of the Top Ten CD releases of 2011 by the Los Angeles Times.
The band’s newest effort is a multi-layered blues journey through Mississippi juke joints, prisons, churches, and the small neighborhood called Baptist Town in Greenwood where the legendary bluesman Robert Johnson was murdered in 1938. The trio invited several guests into the famed Sun Studio to lend a hand, and David Hidalgo, Robert Cray, and John Mayer help to tell a story of the dichotomy of the ongoing struggle between poverty and affluence, love and hate, and sin and salvation.
The trio’s 4th album “Baptist Town” is a monumental achievement in roots and blues storytelling, and will undoubtedly grow the trio’s already large fan base that includes artists like ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons:
“El contenta completa”...! This is it. Enjoy this one, top to bottom, bottom to top. The Mike Eldred Trio makes the rounds through a blues-wrapped offering that is certain to satisfy. Rock it!”
DAVE RILEY & BOB CORRITORE
DAVE RILEY & BOB CORRITORE
The “Mississippi meets Chicago” blues partnership of Dave Riley and Bob Corritore is now in its 8th year. This is their 3rd CD together, and they have toured extensively in the USA, Europe and South America. Their stage show is a real down-home blues throw- down!

Dave Riley grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi before moving to the West Side of Chicago. He worked down South in later years was a close associate of Frank Frost, Sam Carr and John Weston.

Bob Corritore is a Chicago born and bred harmonica player. He won the 2012 Living Blues Award for Best Harmonica Player. Bob’s Harmonica Blues CD won a 2011 Blues Music Award, he is a recipient of the Blues Foundation’s Keeping The Blues Alive Award and performed on a Grammy-nominated album.

HUSH YOUR FUSS! features original songs, rootsy old-school storytelling blues that puts you in rural Mississippi by way of Chicago, all in the well- honed style of Dave Riley and Bob Corritore.
GYPSY
GYPSY
Gypsy is a band featuring members Cold World, Mother Of Mercy, and Stick Together. There's absolutely no info anywhere about this band except for the brief descriptions I've seen on the Six Feet Under Records website and other sites selling this album. The band has no formal webpage, tumblr, facebook, or bandcamp pages whatsoever. Judging by the band's pedigree, you'd think you'd be in for some heavy sounding music, but that couldn't be further from what's contained on Gypsy's debut ten song album. Gypsy play a great style of emotive and melodic music that's one part melodic punk, one part emo, and one part 90's alt. rock thrown in for good measure
