BRIAN CHARTRAND
BRIAN CHARTRAND
Brian has called Phoenix home for 14 years. Currently, he performs as a soloist and has three main projects: The Sweet Remains, The Project, and Live from Laurel Canyon.

The Sweet Remains...
The Sweet Remains is made up of three gifted and charismatic singer-songwriters, each of whom contributes to the writing and three-part harmonies that define the band’s sound; Brian Chartrand (Phoenix, AZ), Rich Price (Burlington, VT), and Greg Naughton (New York, NY).

Driven by strong lyrical and melodic writing, their songs easily appeal to fans of modern folk-rockers such as Jason Mraz, Ray LaMontagne, and John Mayer. However, it is their lush harmonies that distinguish them from the throngs of guitar-toting troubadours and harken back to supergroups of the 1960s and 1970s, such as Crosby, Stills & Nash; the Eagles; and Simon and Garfunkel.

In 2008, the three musicians met for a chance jam session in a Rhode Island hotel room, and they instantly recognized a musical blend and kinship that would eventually overcome geography to form the Sweet Remains.

After that first jam session in 2008, they began writing and recording together during breaks in each of their solo touring when they could all manage to meet at a small home studio in Los Angeles. The band’s debut CD, Laurel & Sunset, was released several months later, and the band has been winning the praise of audiences and critics across the country ever since. Laurel & Sunset has over 20 million streams on Spotify.

The Project...
Brian’s five-piece original band. They have played some of the best live music venues in the Valley including The MIM Music Theater, Tempe Center for the Arts, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, Chandler Center for the Arts, Crescent Ballroom, and Valley Bar. The Project sounds like a cross between James Taylor and Steely Dan. Perfect for unique corporate events, cocktail parties, receptions.

Live from Laurel Canyon...
Brian researched and wrote Live from Laurel Canyon in 2013. It’s a 90 minute show that highlights the music and artists who lived in Laurel Canyon (Hollywood, CA) between 1965 and 1975. Performed with the help of his all star backing band and two additional singers (Khani Cole and Kip Fox), this show tells the tale of some of the most influential singer/songwriters of that time and helps show how ‘folk rock’ began in this small canyon community. Artists featured in the show: The Mamas & The Papas, The Doors, the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, America, the Eagles, and Carole King.

As an independent artist Brian has released over 15 albums of original music, performed throughout the US and Europe, and placed compositions in advertisements and indie films.
JAY ALLAN
JAY ALLAN
Colorado-born and Phoenix, AZ based singer/songwriter Jay Allan is continuously getting back to his roots. Whether they be musical, of family & friends or that of his own adventurous heart & soul, Jay’s roots are what have brought him to where he is today. As he sees it and expresses through his music and art, it is a very joyous, inspirational, yet perpetually growing and kinetic place in life. Jay has been playing and performing for over 15 years and has made music his sole profession for the past 5 years. With eight albums and counting under his musical belt, multiple projects, countless shows and tours (local, national and international) including sharing the stage with numerous influential people, Jay Allan is quite the experienced and motivated little songster. Add to all that his recent marriage and the arrival of his beautiful baby girl and you’ve got the makings of a radiantly happy Jay.
Jay Allan plays what is known to his fans as funky-folk, blues rock. Channeling honest passion and raw emotion through his own life and observations, he continues to gain fans and notoriety locally and nationally. He combines heartfelt and memorable lyrics with genre-bending styles and melodies in his long list of ever-evolving original songs that range from that of joy, love, loss, gratitude and searching and are often outlined with an insightful and sometimes humorous touch. While remaining true to his own roots, Jay often taps into and pays homage to such influences as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, The Black Crowes and far too many artists and songwriters, old and new, to name. You could say Jay relishes in the inspiration brought on by his favorite artists.
Jay Allan has been part of the recording and collaboration of eight albums with projects such as Delcoa, Nameless Prophets, Jay and Ash, Rebus and his most recent venture, Jay Allan & The Uncommon Good. Jay has performed in venues and festivals big and small in 30+ states across the United States and has also performed in Mexico, Costa Rica and the British Virgin Islands. He has shared the studio and stage with countless acts including Michael Franti & Spearhead, Umphrey’s Mcgee, Martin Sexton, Tony Lucca, Ryan Montbleau and many more. Notably, he was recently invited to the “blind auditions” for Season 6 of NBC’s “The Voice”. Jay finds peace and solace providing lessons in guitar and songwriting along with working with various charities and community benefits.
With his roots strong and regularly enriched and nourished, Jay Allan’s musical and personal branches continue to flourish and grow. Along with exciting new records coming in the fall of 2014, a new project: Jay Allan & The Uncommon Good, his continuous local and national tours and a huge smile and heart yearning to connect with the world around him, Jay Allan is charging towards the bright horizon in front of him.
As Jay would say, “Until the next, much love and light!”
MATTHEW THORNTON (VINYL STATION)
MATTHEW THORNTON (VINYL STATION)
Vinyl Station is a indie rock band performing in and around Phoenix mostly, but also playing around the country. Vinyl Station is Matthew Thornton and Brendon Cottrell. Matthew sings, plays guitar and a kick drum. Brendon sings and plays guitar, keyboard, and harmonicas.

Matthew and Brendon met after getting accidentally booked for the same gig and ended up playing on each others sets because they liked most of the same music. Still true, with a few exceptions of course. They play a lot of shows, and a lot of songs. They do not play any songs they don't particularly love.

VS recorded their first full length album, The Evening Sin, in 2012. They tried a very fast approach when recording, trying to get a good performance in one or two takes. They took more time on the arrangements and instrumentation, carefully deciding each part and making sure it was right before sending it to be mastered. They tried very hard to keep things simple, so as to resemble their live show, but had to add certain instruments because they sounded too good to leave out.

Vinyl Station is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their new album Still Open Eyes.

Still Open Eyes is due for an early 2015 release.
